About Marilyn and her Projects!
A former resident of Santa Fe and a frequent visitor to Paris, Marilyn currently lives in the Republic of Panama. In addition to her art, Marilyn is committed to a number of other creative projects and community causes.
Marilyn loves art. Not only does she enjoy painting, Marilyn loves every aspect of the art business. She’s owned a gallery, worked as an art consultant, coached artists and more. Now, she’s writing a book to help artists develop their careers and work with galleries. Succeeding as an Artist: Tips, Tools & Tales for Doing It Right will be published later this year.
Marilyn loves helping others. Fascinated by the human condition, Marilyn is also writing I Should Have Known When..., a compilation of stories about saved and failed relationships. The book explores how people—despite their “aha” moments—make the wrong decisions in their relationships. The book also includes “lessons learned” to help others trust their instincts and use their own “aha” moments to improve their lives.
Marilyn loves Panama. Marilyn is working with a group of wonderful, civic-minded Panamanian women to create a cookbook featuring recipes from the residents and friends of El Valle de Anton, a magical village nestled in the mountains of Panama. The cookbook will feature the recipes of the area’s diverse residents, including its indigenous peoples, and will introduce readers to Panama’s exotic fruits and vegetables, such as otoe and name. The group is currently testing every recipe—and having a great time tasting them! The book will be published in both Spanish and English, and all proceeds will be donated to the health and environmental needs of El Valle. Marilyn gives special thanks to her cookbook group for all their creativity, hard work and great food: Adele Doane, Renee Cosans, Christine Trexel and Shirley van der Dijs Mills.
Marilyn loves Paris. As a young girl growing up in Louisiana, Marilyn frequently visited the New Orleans’ French Quarter, which is where her love affair with all things French began. A frequent visitor to France, Marilyn owns an apartment in Paris, which is available for rent. |
