Skyscapes Fine Art

A statement of my art

I paint, losing track of time. The passion for the creation of a painting that has never before existed is something that occurs from a deeper source than planning.

I paint in a zone of joy. I just let it unfold while tweaking this, smearing that and glazing always. Then, I stand back and take direction from what the painting reveals. Again, more tweaking, smearing and glazing, walking away and observing what is there; intuiting what is to come. I am found and also lost in the process.

I consider my work a gift to myself. It teaches me many things. The most important, to understand the creative process so as to appreciate the work of other creators of the arts.  This has opened up a new world for me. In a non-judgmental manner, I can appreciate others as fellow creators. It truly is this creative process that compels me to paint.

I am so fortunate that I love what I do and I am ecstatic when others understand and love it too!
